PHYSICS LAB SAFETY

 

       

 

  1.  The physics laboratory is to be used for serious work.

  2.  Never bring food, beverages, or make-up into the lab.

  3.  Never taste anything in the lab.

  4.  Never use lab glassware for eating or drinking.

  5.  Never perform unauthorized experiments.

  6.  Read and prepare your pre-lab assignment prior to walking into the lab.

  7.  Keep work areas clean and clear of clutter.

  8.  Make sure you understand the operation of the safety station equipment and
      supplies in the lab room (all safety equipment and supplies will be thoroughly
      explained and demonstrated prior to your first lab… always ASK if you have
      any questions or concerns).

  9.  Report any accident immediately.

  10. Never run in the lab.

  11. Handle combustible and radioactive samples strictly as instructed.

  12. Immediately inform Mr. Peppercorn of any broken glass.

  13. Use electrical equipment only as instructed. Circuits must be checked by Mr.
      Peppercorn prior to activating them.
 
  14. When your investigation is complete, turn off water and/or disconnect all
       electrical circuits. Clean your work area. Clean and return all apparatus to
       their original places. Wash hands thoroughly.
